No credit card is required to sign up or to use any part of the platform.
How we make money
Copythistune earns revenue only when a fan voluntarily chooses to support an artist directly through our platform — for example, through a tip, contribution, or paid fan action.
When a fan sends support to an artist, Copythistune keeps a small service cut to cover payment processing and to sustain the platform. The remainder goes to the artist.
Our revenue split
- Artist receives: 85% of each fan contribution
- Copythistune service fee: 15% of each fan contribution
Payment processor fees (charged by Paddle, our merchant of record) may apply in addition and are deducted before the split.
What this means for you
- If no fan ever supports you on Copythistune, you pay us nothing — and you still get the full platform.
- We only succeed when artists succeed. Our incentives are aligned with yours.
- There is no commitment, no lock-in, and no subscription to cancel.
Currency & payments
Fan contributions are processed in USD through Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles all tax, compliance, and payouts. Artists receive their share according to Paddle's supported payout methods for their region.
Changes to pricing
If we ever change our revenue split, we will notify all active artists by email with reasonable advance notice. We will never retroactively charge for past activity.
